These codes of ethics are minimum requirements that an agency shall agree to in becoming members of the LA LGBT Youth Advocates Coalition. Guidelines of an agency will take precedence as long as these requirements meet the minimum standards listed below.

Member agencies of the LA LGBT Youth Advocates agree that they will not engage in activities that could:

  • Prevent them for discharging their official duties in accordance with the requirements of their mission.
  • Adversely effect their ability to provide support to youth in an objective manner
  • Discredit the LA LGBT Youth Advocates Coalition

Member agencies of the LA LGBT Youth Advocates Coalition are expected to use sound judgment in all relationships with the youth they serve. Under no circumstances should member agencies of the LA LGBT Youth Advocates Coalition allow their directors, board members, employees and/or volunteers to use their positions to exploit their clients and/or to act inappropriately with their clients.
